Spring Break Family Science Camp! River Science Exploration

Program Details:
- Wax Paper Watershed – An activity that demonstrates what a watershed is and how pollution can travel through our waterways
- Cabbage Chemistry – Explore what the pH scale is using common household items
- Water Quality Testing – Folks will test for nitrates, phosphates, pH, dissolved oxygen, and how clear the Cedar River water is
- Salmon Dissection – Learn about salmon anatomy and explore the insides of a real salmon
- Gyotaku & Macroinvertebrates Investigation – These two will be done at the same time:
- Gyotaku: Folks will paint the salmon and press fabric onto it, leaving an intricate fish print
- Macroinvertebrates Investigation: Folks will get a chance to search for the presence/absence of bugs in the water to determine the water quality health
