Family Science Time

Join the Environmental Science Center for our drop-in family science time. Each session features a different STEM topic with hands-on activities and crafts to keep your kids learning all year long! Stop by during any part of our event time to be a part of the fun. These programs are open to all ages, but best recommended for families with scientists grades K-5.

- Bee a Pollinator: Craft your own fuzzy bumble bee to see how pollen is collected and moved between flowers.
- Pollen Under the Scope: Folks will have the opportunity to use a microscope to look at the intricate structure of pollen.
- Insect goggles: How do insects see the world? Use a pair of crafted insect goggles to see what insects see!
- Butterfly Camouflage & Flapping Butterfly: Color a paper butterfly to match its environment. Then attach it to a clothespin to make it flap its wings!
- Coloring activities: Insect Crayon Rubbings & Insect Life Cycle Wheel
