Music Soulstice: The Root, Golden Age, and Impact of Soul Music
The Music Soulstice concert takes the audience on a journey through the roots, golden age, and impact of Soul music in America. Get ready to groove and move in your seats or get up to dance.
This all-live band concert features songs from the great American songbook of Soul music and its influences in R&B, Funk, and Hip Hop. Global Heat Band performs hit “Golden Age” songs by Ray Charles, Sam Cooke, Aretha Franklin, and James Brown; the Motown sound of Marvin Gaye and Stevie Wonder; R&B from Earth Wind and Fire, Sly & the Family Stone, and more; and contemporary spinoff styles of artists like Lizzo, Lauryn Hill, Anderson Paak, and Kendrick Lamar.
Production of this special Music Soulstice concert is supported by a grant from the City of Renton through the Renton Municipal Arts Commission (RMAC).
